Accounts Payable Associate - Temporary ($23-27 per hour)

The role of the Accounts Payable Associate is to provide administrative and clerical support to the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring expenses are recognized in the proper period, in addition to processing, verifying and reconciling invoices to the vendor ledgers, in a timely and efficient manner. The AP Associate is a vital team member of the finance team. This role will be a temporary full time position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work efficiently in a paperless environment and keep electronic files organized and current at all times
  • Partner cross functionally with all departments and maintain a high level of customer service with both internal associates and external clients.
  • Monitor and manage inbox for AP bills, AP inquiries and USPS
  • Process invoices to be paid accurately and timely, this includes proper general ledger account coding and selecting the proper approval workflow
  • Review vendor remit address in system and other vendor details and follow up with vendor as necessary
  • Review invoices for service period to identify proper recording of accruals or prepaids for accounting staff
  • Coordinate the payment of bills including printing, stuffing and stamping outgoing payments and reconciling payments to the commit report
  • Coordinate vendor bill approval with communities
  • Research and review vendor and employee inquiries of open payables in a timely manner
  • Research and resolve payment exceptions and post approved invoices to AP on a daily basis
  • Review and resolve outstanding checks and credit balances with vendors
  • Recommend adjustments for unresolved discrepancies
  • Complete special assignments

Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification:

  • Associates degree in accounting, finance, or business (preferred)
  • 2-7 years of accounts payable experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Yardi Voyager experience preferred

Maplewood Senior Living conducts pre-employment screening including background check, drug screening, and reference checks.
