The Development and Marketing Coordinator is an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual to enhance the Season of Sharing Fund's robust support and foster community partnerships, driving the organization toward a greater impact. For nearly four decades, the Season of Sharing Fund has been essential in providing vital assistance to countless individuals and families, helping them secure housing and meet critical needs. Fundraising has primarily been achieved through the San Francisco Chronicle's annual newspaper campaign and the generosity of its readers.


This is a remote position, but the ideal candidate must reside within the Bay Area footprint, as regular in-person meetings and office attendance during the campaign season (September - January) are expected.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Data Management

  • Ensure accurate information tracking with timely data entry in Raiser's Edge, documenting donor giving history and updating key records.
  • Conduct daily and weekly queries in Raiser's Edge to harmonize financial data.
  • Support monthly reconciliation of CRM with bank, credit card, and online donation totals.
  • Generate data analysis as required.


Fundraising

  • Oversee foundation and corporate grant pipelines, including proposal writing, tracking, and reporting.
  • Conduct prospect research for major donors, institutional funders, and key supporters.
  • Draft compelling fundraising appeals, acknowledgment letters, and donor communications, ensuring seamless information flow in Raiser's Edge.
  • Devise strategies for the Double the Donation partnership, managing matching gifts effectively.
  • Contribute to the annual campaign's success by preparing donor lists, assets for digital marketing, and providing data analysis for the digital marketing firm.
  • Assist in recruiting clients and developing their stories to feature in the annual campaign and promotional materials.


Marketing and Digital Media

  • Create and maintain an annual social media calendar.
  • Produce engaging content and post weekly across social media platforms, including client stories during the end-of-year campaign.
  • Monitor and assess digital engagement to refine strategies.
  • Prepare monthly and seasonal email communications alongside targeted mailing lists.
  • Support website upkeep and updates as necessary.


Administration

  • Assist with mail processing and respond to inquiries from phone and the website.
  • Manage hardcopy files and maintain an inventory of essential supplies.


DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS


  • College degree or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • A minimum of four years of work experience, including at least three years in nonprofit administration, fundraising, and/or digital marketing.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English; ability to conduct client outreach in Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, capable of working independently and prioritizing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with Raiser's Edge and/or other donor CRMs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications, WordPress, and Adobe Suite.
  • Passionate about the mission of the Season of Sharing Fund.


COMPENSATION PACKAGE


Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000


Benefits

  • Health insurance: organization covers 85% of the medical plan; employee responsible for 15% for medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • PTO: staff accrues 20 days in the first year, increasing to 25 days in the second and third years, and 30 days in the fourth year.
