Family Practice physician employment in California : Providence St. Jude Medical Group is seeking a full-time Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine or PM&R physician with subspecialty training to work within our large and well-established orthopedic surgical group in Orange County, California. The physician will join our multispecialty group of orthopedic surgeons as a non-surgical treatment partner. The candidate will be expected to manage their own panel of patients with predominantly orthopedic and sports medicine conditions, which will include acute athletic injuries, chronic overuse musculoskeletal injuries, and degenerative joint conditions. Ideally, the candidate will have experience or training in administering ultrasound-guided injections utilizing corticosteroids, viscosupplementation, and platelet-rich plasma. If the applicant does not have specialized training in these injection modalities, there will be an expectation for the physician to pursue Continuing Medical Education in those techniques to enhance their clinical practice. The physician will also refer patients to their surgical partners when operative treatment becomes appropriate. There will be an opportunity to participate in monthly department case conferences and process enhancement meetings for those interested in leadership roles. The physician's practice will be expected to be busy right away given the abundance of non-surgical patients who are currently being managed by our large group (8+) of multi-specialty orthopedic surgeons who are fellowship-trained in sports medicine, total joint replacement, trauma, and foot-ankle surgery. We also have a referral base of 100+ primary care providers in our regional health system who will potentially refer out musculoskeletal complaints that are beyond their usual scope.
