Assesses clinical appropriateness for admission and collaborates with staff regarding potential outpatient admissions. Performs psychiatric evaluations and ongoing assessments (progress notes) for individuals under his/her care. Completes documentation necessary. Provides individual therapy, family therapy and/or medication management as needed for patients under his/her care. Appropriately requests consultation when indicated. Provides psychiatric consultation when requested. Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with all HIPAA standards. Completes all documentation requirements legibly and within timeframes established by Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations. Participates in the multidisciplinary treatment team and participates collaboratively in scheduled staffing regarding the treatment of his/her patients. Demonstrates appropriate prescribing of medications and ensures that documentation regarding the medications complies with the facility and regulatory standards. Ensures that cases are adequately covered when away from the facility. Participates in ongoing PI activities and organization committees as assigned. Completes necessary documentation to ensure accurate reimbursement for services provided. Complies with all Medical Staff Bylaws and Medical Staff Rules and Regulations. Complies with all facility policies and procedures, CMS and regulatory requirements. Maintains professional behaviors at all times. Think you have what it takes to help us change lives all over the country?* Graduate from an accredited medical school doctoral program required;* Completed a residency in psychiatry; board certification preferred* Experience: Prior experience in mental health psychiatric practice preferred License* Currently, an unencumbered medical doctor (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) licensure in the state* Knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws, Consulting Staff Bylaws, and Operating Agreements in place* Knowledge of facility policies and procedures* Must have excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate ideas/problems/instructions* Ability to analyze situations, evaluate data, recommend/implement courses of action that would improve systems/processes.* Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures* Ability to use good judgment and keep the information confidential* Ability to react calmly and effectively in an emergency* Positive energy*Physical Requirements** Ability to use hands and fingers, talk or hear* Ability to sit, stand, walk and reach continually.* Ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch frequently* Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds* Close vision required to see computer monitor, read documents, and operate copy and fax machine* Work environment is indoors and climate controlled.
